1. Business Development Director-1 Position
Fixed-Term Employment for two years from the date of employment based in the Country Office
The Business Development Director is responsible to create long-term value for the Plan
International Nepal from both existing and new funding sources and relationships through
both institutions and corporate partnerships. The position will lead in the development of
long-term financial growth strategy to ensure Plan Nepal’s financial sustainability and ensure
Plan International Nepal has a balanced portfolio of the suitable, medium, and large grants and
the pipeline of future funding.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- Master’s Degree in relevant education
- At least seven years of demonstrated experience in business development with a minimum of 3 years experience of in leadership and managerial role in an International organization.
- Excellent track record of building relationships with institutional and corporate donors.
- Demonstrable knowledge of grants acquisition and compliance processes and practices, as a result of study, training, or practical experience.
- Knowledge of the individual donors’ interests, priorities, and requirements.
- Knowledge of Nepal and Nepali culture, as well as the funding environment, would be an added advantage.

- Strong leader – lead with a number of soft skills such as effective communication, motivation, positivity, trustworthiness, creativity, feedback, and commitment.
- Research & strategic thinking – strong research, market, and strategic analysis skills in order to understand the donor landscape, understand Plan Nepal’s competitive advantage, able to benchmark the competition, and develop a strategy that will keep the organization ahead.
- Goal-focused – focused on meeting financial targets with the ability to pursue a long-term strategic vision whilst remaining flexible enough to respond tactically to changing demands or unexpected opportunities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent English oral and written communication skills: must be able to communicate, present, assert and speak to all the different stakeholders involved, actively listen and gain the confidence of donors and national organizations.
- Collaboration – involves working with multiple parties from inside and outside the organization, to achieve Plan Nepal’s goals.
- Relationship building – able to build relationships, influence, provide constructive feedback, manage conflicts and navigate through organizational politics, in order to get things done.
- Negotiation & influencing – know when to compromise and when to take a stand, ability to win hearts, minds, and trust is tactful and diplomatic at all times
- Creativity/marketing – able to see new ways of developing existing opportunities, or finding different routes to acquire new grants.
- Project management – able to set goals, plan and manage projects, manage the risks involved, calculate budgets, cost, time, and teams working on ongoing projects.
- Computer skills – high competency working with Microsoft Office, and CRM software and familiarity with working on ERP systems.

2. Technical Advisor-Gender and Social Inclusion-1 Position
Fixed-Term Employment for two years from the date of employment based in the Country Office
The Technical Advisor will provide technical expertise in developing and delivering Plan
International Nepal’s strategy on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI). The primary
scope of the Technical Advisor- GESI will facilitate Plan International Nepal in enhancing the
implementation of Plan International (both Global and national) GESI/GEISA action plan
through:
a. Socialisation of strategies/action plans/guidelines within Plan International Nepal and its
partners.
b. Provide strategic oversight during the design and implementation of the programs.
c. Institutionalize the learnings/knowledge generated in close coordination with Monitoring,
Evaluation, Research, and Learning team.
d. GESI as a non-negotiable initiative of Plan International Nepal must be mainstreamed in all
our Area of Global Distinctiveness (AOGDs) during design and implementation through
capacity building of Plan International Nepal’s staff and its partners.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- Master’s degree in relevant field with 3-4 years of experience or at least 5 years of experience in GESI with a Bachelor’s Degree including demonstrated ability to undertake different training programs.
- Experience in policy advocacy on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI).
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation of GESI
- Experience in networking/engaging with key actors on GESI
- Experience in capacity development of project staff
- Capacity to produce evidence-based, robust program design and public policy recommendations and positions.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, a variety of team members, and external contacts, through good written and spoken communication skills
Desirable
- Understanding of the structures, processes, and trends in the Nepal political system.
- Good understanding of the processes by which you achieve policy change and of how to conduct power and political analysis.
- Ability to plan work and meet deadlines when working under pressure on a number of projects.
- Commitment to the Plan’s values including the rights and needs of children.
- Experience working for an international organization
